WHAT YOU ARE SAYING
“The counselling has been a lifeline to me. It has helped me to say things that I couldn’t say to members of my family; my fears about the cancer coming back.” Rob Nicholls
"PAC has been of great help to me in providing counselling.... I would like to express my sincere gratitude, as the counselling has made a huge contribution to my recovery." Client 1, Jan 12th 2000
'Five Days after T's 50th Birthday she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The following two years she describes as life changing, terrifying and amazing in equal measures....T was well informed about the physical effect her treatment would have but it was the mental impact that blew her sideways....T felt the cancer was suffocating her; she described it as a silent enemy that crept and slid into her life. She explained, "I woke up every morning thinking I've had cancer and it was the last thing I thought about at night. It was stopping me from doing anything."...T went to PAC for counselling and said it was marvellous....." I could say whatever I liked without worrying about the counsellor's feelings." The experience she described as 'amazing'. "I had lived cancer seven days a week, now I may feel low or down once a month, just like everybody else." ' Taken from the Somerset Standard, Nov 2nd 2000.
"....I've had to be strong for everyone and I get so tired of doing that. Coming here I can be however I feel. Angry, desperate, frightened. After a session I seem to be clearer about things. I cant tell you how grateful I am that PAC is here, I think I'd be a basket case if I hadn't had counselling...." Client S, April 2001
"The counselling allowed me to feel safe, to open up, talk about myself and my cancer and unload my ‘baggage’ I felt I needed to. I was given the time and space to talk about what I wished and go at my own pace." Client A, 2005
"PAC was a safe place for me when I had cancer. I know I could have said what I wanted to my counsellor without being judged. My sessions sorted my head out. I’m no longer as afraid as I was." Client J, 2004
"I’ve found counselling invaluable, as it’s a chance to talk to someone who is not directly involved with my problems. I don’t have to edit my thoughts of cancer when I’m with my counsellor." Client C, 2004
"My confidence has been returned and in general life is much better. This new frame of mind is all thanks to my counsellor." Client S, 2004
