Volunteering can be a lot of fun and it’s a good way of making new friends, gaining new experiences and supporting your local charity. There are a number of ways in which you can volunteer your time and skills to support the work of PAC.
Regular Volunteering
We have a friendly group of volunteers who meet weekly. This group of volunteers help to organise fundraising initiatives, pack our Christmas Cards and other products, help out at events and get involved with a variety of community fundraising activities. We have a spacious room at the PAC head office in Frome where our volunteers meet. Meeting take place every Monday (excluding Bank Holidays and August) between 10.30 – 12.00. Not all of our volunteers attend every week but they do come regularly. We are always looking for new members so if you are interested please contact Kelly on 01373 455255 or email fundraising@positiveactiononcancer.co.uk
Ad Hoc Volunteering
We understand that not everyone is in a position to volunteer regularly but would still like to offer their time and skills to a charity. We have a small list of volunteers who we contact by email when we have special events and fundraising activities. Regular email updates are sent to these people and they attend and volunteer at times that are convenient to them. Some of these volunteers also have particular skills which they are happy for us to call upon if required. If you would like to learn more about this type of volunteering please contact Kelly on 01373 455255 or email fundraising@positiveactiononcancer.co.uk
Trustees
The charity is governed by a board of trustees who all give their time on a voluntary basis. We are always interested in hearing from people who feel that they may be able make a contribution by joining our board. We generally look for people with financial, legal, marketing, charity, business and counselling backgrounds. If you are interesting in learning more about becoming a trustee please contact Mary Taylor, PAC Director on 01373 455255 or email marytaylor@positiveactiononcancer.co.uk
